People of Göcek used to live on fishing and sailing in the past and Göcek was a harbor of metal export in 1900s.In time, Göcek which used to be a fisherman town in the past, has become a world wide know yacht marina. its population of 4000 people reaches 8/19 thousand in summer with the permanent residents which exceeds 100 thousand people including the tourists visiting the region throughout the seven month-tourism season and the yachters.Göcek is the home of one of the biggest yacht marinas of Mediterranean region .This beautiful bay embellishes this 4000 square meter area which is 30 km to Fethiye, 25 km to Dalaman Airport and 20km to the Centre of Dalaman.It is a place highly preferred by foreign guests living in the villa type mountain houses situated on the hills of Göcek  .People staying here can enjoy the view of Göcek Bay among the trees of surrounding forest  and nature. In the mornings, you wake up   with the sound of birds singing Believe us, it is really a privilege to watch the sun setting and rising, from Göcek.

 Yachts and cruisers all over the world prefer this town to see and stay.This place is named as the heaven of bays by them .In the garden of each house ,orange and lemon trees are grown.Most of the local people are yoruk,Turcoman.Since it takes half an hour from Fethiye to Göcek,you can have a daily visit.When we examine the past of  Göcek,We see that it has been home for different civilizations. The statues of cow headed man and the first flying man defined in the mythology resemble Ikarus .According to the historians, Ikarus was born in Göcek.Nature and Göcek has integrated in Göcek.You may also see the historical ruins wherever you go. It is said that one can not be considered to have haf a blue voyage as long as he hasnt stopped by Göcek.

 You can see the islands around by regular boat trips from göcek to Fethiye.You can go on a terlve island-trip. We recommend you to visit Bingüþ,Poruklu,Atbükü,Bpynuzbükü,Taþyaka,Sýralýbük and hamamlar Bays that are spectacular and all more beautiful than each. The well-Know Cleopatra bath is also situated within the borders of Göcek.You can enjoy the green environment and blue sparkling waters in this region rich in sweet gum trees.We name this beauty as heaven of bays. This region  is highly visited by Carretta Carettas.The picture of fish painted on the rocks at Taþyaka is said to be drawn by Bedri Rahmi Therefore this place is named Bedri Rahmi bay
